Possible Phyllonorycter?

I had a reasonably good catch on Friday night in Wolvercote, Oxfordshire, in the high temperatures we had then; and one individual that's been baffling me since then - a very small micro, which looks like a Phyllonorycter of some sort, but if that's what it is, its markings are rather unusual. Any suggestions as to what it is would be very welcome!

  1. Hi Steve,

It is a Phyllonorycter but the picture is rather too over-exposed to be sure of the species. It will be something like tristrigella, froelichiella or nicellii.

  2. Thanks, Dave: this will have to be one that got away... I've just learnt a lot in a short time about just how many Phyllonorycter species there are...
