Raspberry Clearwing, Worminghall, Bucks

Pleased to get one of these today in the pheromone trap. My first year with lures and this is the fifth new Clearwing for the garden following Red-belted, Orange-tailed, Currant and Red-tipped.

  1. Hi Peter,
I think we're up to four or five known sites in Bucks now but this is still an uncommon species locally, so Well Done! Your record is the second I'm aware of in the county this season, the other being a fresh female found at Dancersend last Saturday.

  2. ...and prompted by your success I put the HYL lure out here at Westcott this afternoon, even though it was overcast, and a rather battered male turned up between 6pm and 7pm (they seem to be quite late flyers). Another site added to the list!
