Sorting out Eucosma

Having fun with Eucosma at the moment (mostly E.cana), but these two specimens I think are different.

The first I have currently assigned E.conterminana, whilst the second, to me, looks like it should be E.hohenwartiana, or does it need gen det to be sure?

  1. Hi Keith,
I'd go along with Eucosma conterminana for the first but I'm not sure about the second. If you are trying to claim hohenwartiana then it would need dissection anyway (females only, males can't be done) in order to separate from fulvana and parvulana. All three of those species are found in Bucks and I've had two of them (hohenwartiana & parvulana) in the garden here.
