An interesting surprise in the Denham, Bucks (TQ038868) mv garden trap this morning - Pseudeustrotia candidula (The Shining Marbled). (30-31 July). Little other evidence of migrant activity - one Silver Y(!). However there were two to three noctuella over previous two nights, which just might suggest minimal migrant activity.
Not sure how many UK records by now - 6 in Manley - from which identification was easy - thankyou Chris; confirmed by Colin Plant, who knows the species from Southern Europe.
It does look odd with upward 'tail' - apols for iPhone photos, proper ones tomorrow!
