A Blog for moth recorders in Bucks, Berks and Oxon
Reasonably well marked, could the tortrix be one of the variants of Eudemis profundana? I'm unable to come close with other (both from 15th July)!
Hi Keith,I think you'll find that the first is Lobesia abscisana, while the second is Prays fraxinella. I can't make up my mind if the latter is a worn version of the normal form or quite a light version of the dark form of fraxinella.
Thanks for that, Dave. I've had a few abscisana already this year, but somehow didn't put 2 and 2 together for this individual!
