This moth caught back on June 23rd has now been identified by Peter Hall as a female Cochylis flaviciliana.
In the same batch there was also a Tuta absoluta. Although it is nice to add another species to the garden list reading the information on it suggests it really is a very unwelcome species causing severe damage to tomato plants. I wonder how often it is now turning up in the area?
