Stachys strikes again

After Coleophora lineolea, the second moth species added to this year's garden list thanks to our supply of Hedge Woundwort Stachys sylvatica was this newly-emerged example of Endothenia nigricostana found resting on a leaf just now.  This is the earliest I've seen the species here.  A rather dull moth, this one is actually very well marked (the yellowish saddle is sometimes absent altogether!)

Netted in the garden late yesterday afternoon was an example of Monopis weaverella, while new species for the year-list in last night's trap were Red-green Carpet and White Ermine.
