Caterpillars

On the 22nd of April I dislodged a couple of caterpillars from the lower branches of some(what I am pretty sure is..) Western Hemlock trees in Philipshill Wood, in Chorleywood. One of these has since pupated and, last night, emerged, confirming what I thought it was: Spruce Carpet.


Given that it remained a caterpillar for several days before pupating I am impressed with what seems to me a pretty fast conversion time from larva to adult. 
Earlier this year a Common Quaker donated some eggs to me and I felt obliged to honour the responsibility. Here is a middle-sized example:

Lastly, this Setaceous Hebrew caterpillar was found wandering across an upturned flower-pot in the middle of the day:
