It's been suggested to me that this is a Brown Scallop. Very little to see in the top view other than a hint of a discal spot and maybe a cross line. I have it potted and I can discern even less detail. I took a shot of the underside as that makes the shape clearer. Also a shot from the side with it's tail in the air. About 30mm wingspan.

Hello Mark. It looks like a Brown Scallop to me. I had my first one on Friday night. Initially, the rather small and faint black spot made me think "Plain Pug", but the scalloped hindwing eliminated that. The lack of notch in the hindwing also eliminated the rare Dentated Pug to which it bears some resemblance.
