Pammene aurana

Pammene aurana

I had a lure in the garden (inside the yellow and green trap) for Cydia nigricana.  No sign of that. I took the lure out but hadn’t got around to washing the trap. It was still hanging in the apple tree. I was surprised to see two very small micros in there this evening. They were both the very smart Pammene aurana. We have plenty of hogweed along our lane. Presumably, they had been attracted by the residue scent from the nigricana lure. I was aware that some lures attract other than the target species.
