Striped Hawk-moth in Maidenhead

My Maidenhead garden is never very good for moths and last night (19th) was no exception in terms of the number of species and total individuals.  In fact for the time of year it was surprisingly poor, especially for macros, possibly as a result of the hot days not suiting the moths.

However there was one welcome surprise in a Striped Hawk-moth, but unfortunately it was well beyond it's "best before" date.
